Usually the first things one asks when they begin to realize there is a pre tribulation rapture is, how do I make sure I go? As I see it, there are no verses which give a 100% guarantee that a person will be found worthy to escape in the pre tribulation rapture.
The rapture is something to strive for, a worthyness we hope for, a reward we do not presume to have attained, but a prize. Many of these same verses are "pre trib" proof texts, and should be familiar, perhaps you will see them in a new light. Some may be new.
All of these verses do not distinguish between believers and the wicked, but between faithful believers and not so worthy believers.
I hope your Christian walk will be blessed and strengthened by this study.
[Luke 21:36] Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
1 Peter 4:
17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house
of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of
them that obey not the gospel of God?
18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly
and the sinner appear?
Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed,
not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work
out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians 3:
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency
of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered
the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is
of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness
which is of God by faith:
10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the
fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already
perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also
I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended:
but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and
reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling
of God in Christ Jesus.
Romans 10:
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say
not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is,
to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ
again from the dead.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and
in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and
with
the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Matthew 7:
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter
into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of
my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied
in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in
thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart
from me, ye that work iniquity.
Matt 8:
9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say
to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and
to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed,
Verily
I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west,
and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of
heaven.
12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer
darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou
hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed
in the selfsame hour.
Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless
when
the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the
earth?
[Mat 22:1] And again Jesus spoke to them in parables, saying,
[Mat 22:2] "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave
a marriage feast for his son,
[Mat 22:3] and sent his servants to call those who were invited
to the marriage feast; but they would not come.
[Mat 22:4] Again he sent other servants, saying, `Tell those who are
invited, Behold, I have made ready my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves
are killed, and everything is ready; come to the marriage feast.'
[Mat 22:5] But they made light of it and went off, one to his farm,
another to his business,
[Mat 22:6] while the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully,
and killed them.
[Mat 22:7] The king was angry, and he sent his troops and destroyed
those murderers and burned their city.
[Mat 22:8] Then he said to his servants, `The wedding is ready, but
those invited were not worthy.
[Mat 22:9] Go therefore to the thoroughfares, and invite to the
marriage feast as many as you find.
[Mat 22:10] And those servants went out into the streets and gathered
all whom they found, both bad and good; so the wedding hall was filled
with guests.
[Mat 22:11] "But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw
there a man who had no wedding garment;
[Mat 22:12] and he said to him, `Friend, how did you get in here
without
a wedding garment?' And he was speechless.
[Mat 22:13] Then the king said to the attendants, `Bind him hand and
foot, and cast him into the outer darkness; there men will weep and gnash
their teeth.
[Mat 22:14] For many are called, but few are chosen."
On the white wedding garment that is needed.
Rev. 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Revelation 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Mat 24:
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not
the Son of man cometh.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made
ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find
so doing.
47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his
goods.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth
his coming;
49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink
with the drunken;
50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not
for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the
hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
[Mat 25:1] Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins,
which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
[Mat 25:2] And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
[Mat 25:3] They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil
with them:
[Mat 25:4] But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
[Mat 25:5] While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
[Mat 25:6] And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom
cometh; go ye out to meet him.
[Mat 25:7] Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
[Mat 25:8] And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil;
for our lamps are gone out.
[Mat 25:9] But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not
enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for
yourselves.
[Mat 25:10] And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they
that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
[Mat 25:11] Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord,
Lord, open to us.
[Mat 25:12] But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know
you not.
[Mat 25:13] Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour
wherein the Son of man cometh.
Matt 10:
32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess
also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny
before my Father which is in heaven.
[Luke 12:8] Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men,
him shall the Son of man also confess before the
angels of God:
Luke 13:
23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved?
And he said unto them,
24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you,
will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to
the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying,
Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I
know you not whence ye are:
26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence,
and thou hast taught in our streets.
27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart
from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see
Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of
God, and you yourselves thrust out.
29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the
north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are
first which shall be last.
[Rev 2:22] Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
[Rom 5:8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were
yet sinners, Christ died for us.
[1John 1:8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves,
and the truth is not in us.
[1John 1:9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive
us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
To Philadelphia:
[Rev 3:8] I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open
door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast
kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
[Rev 3:10] Because you have kept my word of patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial which is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell upon the earth.
To Laodiceans:
[Rev 3:16] So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither
cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
How to know if you are lukewarm:
Realize that there are rewards in heaven. It is not a paradise of communism that we seek! Each man will get his own reward. Seek those kingdom rewards fervently, with violence! Ask yourself the following questions, and read the scripture.
Am I showing works?
James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works
is dead?
James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without
works is dead also.
Will my works last?
1 Cor 3:
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise
masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon.
But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is
Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious
stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare
it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every
man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall
receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he
himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Where are my treasures stored?
Matthew 6:
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust
doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth
nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Am I a dishonorable vessel?
2 Timothy 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
What do I really seek?
Luke 12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Do I seek it with violence?
Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
What is really more important to me, family or Christ?
Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
How much do you Love the Lord Jesus Christ?
[Mat 22:37.15] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. [Mat 22:38] This is the first and great commandment. [Mat 22:39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [Mat 22:40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Does that help? It helps me to think about it this way. That our salvation
is a continual process, a striving thing we engage ourselves in. Being
in Christ, as continually as we can be, always on the lookout, ever watching
our walk, reading the word, and looking for His return.
[1Cor 15:51] Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
Not so!
You cannot ignore the bulk of the verses I presented above, and wrongly conclude that all who give lip service to Jesus will be saved. As for me, I know "all" is not 100% inclusive as we might normally think with our English language today. The word "all" doesn't have a 100% inclusive meaning in scripture. Certainly, there will be exceptions to "all" in the following scriptures, because not all men are damned to accept the mark, and not all men come to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge
of the truth.
[Heb 10:26] For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge
of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
[Heb 10:27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery
indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
