When is Satan cast out of heaven?

The answer to this question should help one to see that the seven year tribulation and the 1000 year millinnium start at the same time, the pre tribulation rapture.  Topics:  1000 years, bottomless pit, stars falling from heaven, sun & moon darkening, rule of Christ.

1.  Satan is cast out of heaven at the start of the 1000 year millinnium, which will be at the start of the pretribulation rapture. Rev 12:4,9
2.  The event of Satan and the demons being cast out of heaven is associated with the following symbolic language:
    A.  stars falling, the sun and moon going dark & turning to blood, Rev 12, Isaiah 24:21-23, Ezekiel 32:7-10
    B.  figs falling.
    C.  lightening
2.  Chist begins rule in heaven at the start of the pre tribulation rapture, and at the start of the 1000 year millinnium.
3.  The tribulation and the millinnium are both referred to as "The Day of the Lord".

Satan is restricted and bound twice.  First, at the start of the tribulation, Satan and the rest of the demons are cast out of heaven.  Second, at the end of the tribulation, he is cast into the bottomless pit for the duration of the millinnium.  Yet, during the tribulation, Satan is described as the "beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit", so I can only assume he is cast into the pit twice, once before the tribulation and once after the tribulation.  The Bible does not say "twice", it merely recounts the events time and time again.  It is a principle, I have found, for the Bible to describes what appears to be a singular event, and yet the prophecy is fulfilled multiple times.

Revelation 12 gives a picture of Satan being casting out as we are caught up, and I will be focusing in this article on how Satan being cast out of heaven is described as "stars falling from heaven" and linked to the other stellar signs of the "sun and moon darkening".

Note Rev 12 has several parallels going on in this one chapter.  Verse 4 & 5 are like 9 & 10.  Satan's fall is the time of salvation.  In particular, Satan's evil angels are clearly called the third part of the stars of heaven.

And verse 6 is like verse 14, where the woman is nourished for 1260 days or time times and half a time, or 3.5 years.

Revelation 12
1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

(Ezekiel 32 reads as a double prophecy of both Pharoah's fate and Satan's)  Ezekiel 32 and Isaiah 24 both link Satan's fall with the stellar signs.

Ezekiel 32
7 And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.
8 All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord GOD.
9 I will also vex the hearts of many people, when I shall bring thy destruction among the nations, into the countries which thou hast not known.
10 Yea, I will make many people amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid for thee, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of thy fall.

Isaiah 24:
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.
23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

Now, a common pretribulation interpretation is that the 1000 years do not start until the tribulation is over.  In contrast, I believe the Bible teaches that the 1000 years begin at the same time as the tribulation, as both events begin with the pretribulation rapture, Christ ruling in heaven, and Satan cast to the pit.  After all, if Satan is "cast to the earth" BEFORE the tribulation, as Rev 12 shows, then Satan is "bound" in some sense at the very start of the tribulation.  There are other verses in Revelation and many in the Old Testament, which show that Satan's fall is associated with being cast into the pit.  Verse 3 shows there are two actions.  First, "cast into the pit", and second "and shut him up, and set a seal upon him".  I believe Satan can be "cast into the pit" at the start of the 1000 years so that he can "ascend out of the pit" to vent his wrath during the tribulation, and then "shut up and sealed in the pit" after the seven year tribulation.

Revelation 20
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 20 is not the only place we know the kingdom lasts 1000 years.  2 Peter 3 is largely ignored by the amillinnialists and those who would say the Day of the Lord is anything less than 1000 years.

2 Peter 3
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

The "thief in the night" is a clear reference to the rapture as a wedding, in which Jesus will steal away his bride at the rapture.  The word for rapture, harpazo, means "to sieze" or take away by force.  Judges Chapter 21 ends with a mass abduction of young virgins to be wives for the tribe of Benjamin.  So, the Day of the Lord, starts with the rapture.

Some people try to say that 2 Peter 3 means that the Day of the Lord will be destruction, meaning a post trib rapture.  I agree that a supernatural destruction WILL happen at the rapture, as God destroys the enemies of Israel in the first of three Gog/Magog wars all described as one war in Ezekiel 38,39...  (Ezekiel has a habbit of describing two or more things at once, blending prophesies of destruction of kings with Satan's destruction--as we will see...)

The point is that the Day of the Lord is 1000 years, "that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day" and starts with the rapture in which the Lord comes as a thief to steal away his bride.  Rev. chapters 4,5 are a clear picture of heaven after the rapture, and Satan is nowhere to be seen.  This, I believe, is because Satan is cast out of heaven as the rapture happens.

And Matt 24:29-31, and their parallel accounts in Mark & Luke, which, I believe simultaneously describe both the pre tribulation rapture and second coming.

Matthew 24
15-28 AOD, False Christs, eagle/carcass parable from Luke 17...
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
32-35 Fig Tree...

Mark 13
14-23 AOD, Jersusalem destroyed... (fulfilled in 70AD) ... false Christs...
24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
28-31 Fig Tree...

Luke 21
20-24 Jerusalem destroyed... (fulfilled in 70AD) ...until times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
29-33 Fig Tree...

Ezekiel 28 reads as a double prophecy of both king of Tyrus's fate and Satan's, and sets the type and tone for passages that follow such as Ezekiel 31-32.  So it would be invalid to say that Ezekiel 32, which links Satan's fall to the stellar signs, is about only Pharoah and not Satan at all.

Ezekiel 28
1 The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art a man, and not God, though thou set thine heart as the heart of God:
3 Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:
4 With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:
5 By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:
6 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God;
7 Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness.
8 They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas.
9 Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.
10 Thou shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
11 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

More verses about the stellar signs:

Joel 2:10  The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

Joel 2
28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.
32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

Rev 6
12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Rev 8
10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
12  And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

Isaiah 13
3 I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.
4 The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.
5 They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.
6 Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
7 Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:
8 And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.
9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

Showing more similarities in figurative language in scripture on the topic of Satan's fall.
1.  The powers in heaven shaken.
2.  Figs falling off the tree.
3.  Satan falling as lightening.
4.  Cast into the pit.

The stellar signs are also linked with "the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken", which is another indication that this event is symbolically referring to the heavenly host being cast out of heaven.

Compare: Isaiah 13:10-13
Matt 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Mark 13:25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

Isaiah 14, 34 and Revelation 6 also link the stellar events, and the fall of Satan, with another similar image, falling figs.

Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Isaiah 34:4  And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.
Rev 6
12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

Satan's fall is also associated with lightening by Luke.  I wonder if Matthew's statement about lightening might refer to the same event: Satan being cast out of heaven at the time of the rapture

Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Matt 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Ezekiel 28, and many other Old Testament scriptures link Satan's fall to being cast to the pit.
8 They shall bring thee down to the pit, and thou shalt die the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the seas.
9 Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.

And Revelation has Satan cast into the pit BEFORE the tribulation has ended, and is ALSO associated with stellar signs once again.  Compare with 7 "bottomless pit" verses.

Revelation 9:1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.
Revelation 9:2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

Revelation 9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

Revelation 11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

Revelation 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Considering that Satan's fall is described so much as "falling away", I wonder if the word apostasia, which is translated as "falling away" might reference Satan's fall?  Particularly since in context, it is linked with the man of sin being revealed.

There is a parallel within these verses.  Verse 3 are like verses 7 & 8.
3: "a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed"
7 & 8 "taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed"

Some say that the one "taken out of the way" is Satan himself.

I believe that the falling away is the rapture, and that the one taken out of the way is the Church.  But I wonder if this was written obscurely so that it could mean both?

2 Thess 2:
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
...

Traditionally, Satan is seen as cast out of heaven to the earth for the tribulation, and then cast into the bottomless pit for the duration of the millinnium.  (The millinnium is supposed to begin with the end of the tribulation).  Both "casting down" events are described as Satan being cast into the bottomless pit.  And Satan ascends out of the bottomless pit to make war on the saints. Revelation 11:7.

As I see it, Satan is cast down out of heaven into the Bottomless pit (same result as being cast to earth) at the start of the 1000 years, the "stars falling from heaven".
Then, Satan immidiately ascends out of the Bottomless Pit to earth (which reveals him in front of many for the week Dan 9:27, 2 Thess 2:3) for the duration of the 7 year tribulation.  This ascent out of the pit is the darkening of the sun & moon at the start of the tribulation, Rev 9:1,2, Matt 24:29.

Satan is cast into the bottomless pit at the end of the seven year tribulation. And, again, Satan comes back up out of the pit a second time at the end of the millinnium in Rev. 20.7-9.

Thus, the tribulation and millinnium must start at the same time; with the rapture of the Church.

In order for the tribulation to preceed the millinnium, and be apart from it, I have heard people make the following doubtful arguments which require heavy speculation that is not supported by scripture.

1.  That Satan is NOT cast into the bottomless pit when he is cast out of heaven!  --???
2.  That it is not Satan that ascends out of the Bottomless Pit for the tribulation, but another evil entity which goes to make war on the saints!  --???
3.  That the consistent phrasing "stars falling" has no real significance to describing these events!  --???
4.  Or, that Satan has already been cast to the earth! --???

The other reason the 1000 year reign of Christ and the seven year tribulation start at the same time is that the rapture at the Feast of Trumpets is also known as the "coronation of the Messiah", as well as the wedding of the messiah. At the wedding, the bride and groom are treated as kings. Further, a purpose of a trumpet blast (at the rapture) heralds the beginning of the reign of a king.

In Rev. chapters 4 & 5, we see Christ taking the throne.  This is the ceremony of a king beginning his rule, and the context takes place right after the rapture as described in Rev 4:1.

In Daniel 7:9, again two concepts are linked: Satan's fall and Christ's rule.  "Thrones cast down", which I take to mean Satan and his angels cast out of heaven, and the beginning of the rule or "taking the throne" of the "Ancient of days".

Daniel 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

It seems such a strange and new concept this idea that I believe, that the millennium could begin at the same time of the 7 year tribulation. I began to wonder if I'm on track, or really on the fringe with my interpretation.  Is there a type in scripture which supports this concept?  Actually, there is a very strong example of this in scripture.  King David began his rule in exile, with a band of extremely loyal subjects who at one time were so desperate that they ate the shewbread of the Temple.  David ruled in exile for 7 years and did not sit on the throne in Jerusalem right away.  This may very well have been on purpose so that it could paint a prophetic picuture of the process of how our Lord Jesus Christ will take the throne of David.

1 Kings 2:11  And the days that David reigned over Israel were forty years: seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.

1 Chronicles 29:27  And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.

2 Samuel 5:5  In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.
